The current Scientific Use File (doi:10.5157/NEPS:SC1:8.0.0) contains new data from the eighth wave of the NEPS starting cohort of newborns. In addition to face-to-face interviews with parents/guardians (CAPI, alternatively CATI), four competency measures were administered on the tablet with the target children (TBT). Parallel to the testing, additional information was collected from the parents/guardians via questionnaire (PAPI). The survey was carried out over a period from March to August 2019. The Field Report on the website in the section „Dokumentation“ provides detailed information on the realization of this wave. There you will also find the Data Manual as an introduction to working with the data, the Release Notes with explanations on the current data edition as well as numerous other materials.

Moreover, the Scientific Use File includes information collected from parents/guardians on Corona-specific questions in spring 2020 in a separate data set.
