Notes on the Procedure

General Conditions and Requirements

• Submission of a proposal (max. 10 pages):

  • Presentation of the rationale behind the submitted questions/items (relevance, theoretical background)

  • Explanation of the fit to the selection criteria

  • Concrete questions/items (exclusively with a closed response format)

  • Proof of the scientific quality of the proposed questions/items (written documentation, possibly results from cognitive pretests)

  • Proof of relevant expertise of the submitter(s)

• Feasibility and thematic fit to the CfM 2022

• Publication of the documentation of the questions/items in the series → NEPS Survey Papers

• Provision of the developed questions/items for use and publication in the NEPS instruments

• Eligible for submission are scientists who belong to a research institution but are not themselves part of the NEPS network.

Selection Criteria

• Relevance to open and current research questions

• Relevance for transfer in practice, policies and society

• Exploiting the potential of NEPS data (longitudinal, cohort comparison)
