The current Scientific Use File (doi:10.5157/NEPS:SC5:12.0.0) contains newly added information from the twelfth survey wave of the university student cohort. In the context of this survey (Spring/Summer 2017) a competence measurement and a biographical interview were carried out. For this purpose, the overall sample was divided into two groups in the sense of a split-half design: In one group the competence test and the biographical interview took place within the framework of a CAPI interview, in a second group in the form of a CATI interview with subsequent online testing. In case of non-participation in the personal interview, it was possible for the survey participants to switch to the CATI field with subsequent online testing.
