The Research Data Center (FDZ) regularly offers training courses on the data of the National Educational Panel Study. The one-day online courses are held live with the opportunity for direct exchange between lecturers and participants. The structure is modular, whereby modules can also be attended separately. The course content is applicable to all NEPS starting cohorts. Examples of data preparation are usually demonstrated with Stata, but no special prior knowledge is required to understand it. In general, the courses are held in German, however, it is possible to switch to English if required. The presentation materials are made available after the training. Participation is free of charge.
If you are interested, please register for the desired training course(s) in due time by e-mail using the button below. Please let us know your name and (if applicable) your institutional affiliation as well as the number or date of the course(s). Please also inform us if you need the training to be held in English. -
Basic modules provide knowledge about the theoretical and methodological framework of the NEPS study and how to use the extensive data documentation. They support beginners in accessing the data and in taking first steps towards preparing NEPS analyses.
-
Advanced modules address selected topics of NEPS data use. The offer ranges from assistance on rather general challenges of data preparation (e.g. merging) up to instructions on specific data formats (e.g. episodes) or data resources (e.g. NEPS-ADIAB).

NEW: Training on Demand gives you the opportunity to book modules from our catalog of topics (and possibly more) that are tailored to the needs of a group of at least 5 people on a date that is individually agreed with us.
